'Disney Channel's Lizzie McGuire's' Daniel Escobar dead at 49

Mstars has learned that Disney Channel's Lizzie McGuire star, Daniel Escobar passed away last Friday.

The 49-year-old actor was best known for the role as a teacher starring with Hilary Duff.

According to The Hollywood Reporter Escobar died of complications from diabetes at a Los Angeles hospital.

Escobar played Lizzie McGuire's teacher, Mr. Escobar, on the Disney show from 2001-2002.

The actor also appeared in numerous TV shows, including Dharma & Greg, Weeds, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Malcolm in the Middle, Two and a Half Men and How I Met Your Mother.

He also appeared in films like Blow, The Mexican and The Lizzie McGuire Movie.

In 2008 the actor was won the Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor, according to wiki.

Escobar was also a trained Shakespearean actor, no further details have been announced.
