Nick Stahl, the actor who played John Connor in "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines," has apparently checked himself out of rehab and is currently missing.

Stahl's wife, Rose Murphy Stahl, has confirmed with E! News that her husband has not been in rehab for at least the last couple of days and cannot be found.

This is the second time that the 32-year-old actor has gone missing, as Movie Talk previously reported him to have been seen in the Skid Row area of downtown Los Angeles. He turned up shortly afterward, apologized to his friends, and entered rehab thereafter, the site said.

According to a source cited by E!, Stahl checked himself out of the rehab facility about a week ago against his doctor's orders. While his whereabouts are currently unknown, the source did say that "We are all just desperately looking for him ... It's a terrible situation. We are searching, but we've had no solid leads."

Rose Murphy Stahl told the entertainment news outlet that her husband has been missing for four days, "but I don't want to comment any further."

Papers filed by Murphy Stahl indicate that Nick may be using drugs as he has not reported to any family or friends' homes.

Stahl had a starring role as John Connor in "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines." Coincidentally, Edward Furlong, the actor who played John Connor before Stahl did, has battled his own demons with drugs and alcohol, and he was arrested multiple times -- most recently in 2011 for violating probation -- and has said he was addicted to heroin and cocaine from ages 22 to 26.

Stahl recently made a guest appearance on ABC's "Body of Proof" and has been cast in "The Unknown Son," a film due out this year rumored to be starring Val Kilmer.

Stahl and his wife have one daughter named Marlo.
