Just a few days ago, pop megastar Justin Bieber announced that after his next album (which comes out next week) he's officially retiring from music:

The Biebs later went on to explain to MTV News, "I wanna get to know my family more... I've been away so much, I've missed a lot of great years with my brother and sister." In 2014, Bieber wants to "figure out myself as a man."

Bieber's entourage insists that the "Believe" crooner is just joking - according to manager Scooter Braun, Selena Gomez's ex just needs some time "for himself." But he'll be back in the studio soon, because that's where he likes to be."

The 19-year-old singer DID promise his Beliebers "something special" in the New Year. "I want to say thank you so much to each and every one of you for staying by my side," he told fans. "I love you with all my heart."

Wonder what that might mean? Some "Fast and Furious" fans are still fuming over the nonstop rumors that Bieber might "replace" Paul Walker in the franchise's seventh film installment:

Or maybe that's just crazy talk!
