Lil Boosie is finally coming home.

According to Nola.com, Lil Boosie's release date has officially been moved up. The Louisiana Department of Corrections website claims that the Baton Rouge rapper is set to be released on Aug. 18, 2014.

Boosie's new release date is about a year off from the dates that were previously reported. Back in September, Rick Ross said the rapper would be released in November. But the month came and went with no sign of Boosie.

"They telling me November," Ross said. He also added an offer for a deal under his Maybach Music Group imprint. "I'm going to put a bag on the table for that boy. You never know."

Boosie's release has been the topic of discussion in hip-hop for some time now as the rapper has been behind bars for several years.

He was first locked up for a probation violation stemming from a 2008 drug bust. He was then indicted on first-degree murder in 2010, and acquitted last year.

Boosie, born Torrence Hatch, remains in prison on an eight-year sentence for smuggling codeine, weed, and ecstasy into the Angola Prison facility. The rapper pleaded guilty to the charge but his lawyer insists that drug incident was a set-up by an informant.

It is no doubt that Boosie's return is highly anticipated and supporters are elated to find out that he will be released soon.
