Katy Perry Punches Prince Charming Out In New Music Video 'Wide Awake'

Almost every little girl dreams of a prince charming to come into their lives and sweep them off their feet, but Katy Perry makes it clear that she does not need "prince charming" in her latest music video "Wide Awake."

The music video premiered yesterday (June 18) on MTV and is considered the final chapter to Perry's "Teenage Dream" fairy tale.

"It's kind of like the labyrinth of my life in the last two years. I just wanted to tell a story about myself kind of going through this journey, maybe sometimes trying to get out of a maze. There's good parts and bad parts", said Perry to MTV.

Prince charming appears in the final scene before Perry's character exits the maze successfully. The handsome prince approaches her and expects to be welcomed, however Perry gives him a hard blow on the face causing him to fly out of the into the bushes. The music video ends with victory for Perry's character and little girl who actually represents the innocent youth of her past. They depart ways and Perry is back in reality.
