Simon Cowell says Alex and Sierra earned most votes every week in Season 3 of The X Factor USA 2013

The adorable boyfriend/girlfriend duo of Alex and Sierra won the $1 million recording contract as champions of Season 3 of The X Factor. Simon Cowell, the show's creator, served as their mentor for the third season, and the X Factor mastermind revealed some interesting information about his star contestants.

A YouTube video posted by Celeb Secrets 4 You showed a group of reporters around Cowell and he revealed that Alex & Sierra earned the most votes in each week of Season 3.

"What I did find out was that they won every single week, but the gap was closing," Cowell said. "But we held out 'til the end. I genuinely think the right people won."

The American version of The X Factor does not reveal the weekly voting results, but in Season 2 in 2012, the show posted the order in which the contestants finished each week. But those results showed that Tate Stevens (who won the show) and Carly Rose Sonenclar always finished first and second in the weeks that the show opened the voting to the public. Sometimes Tate was first and Carly was second and vice versa, but they always finished in the top spots.

As Cowell has pointed out in past interviews, this took much of the suspense out of the show as it headed toward the season finale because fans more or less knew who would be in the final two.

Jeff Gutt finished in second place in Season 3, while Carlito Olivero finished third. Unfortunately, we may never know by how much Alex & Sierra.
