In the spirit of the holiday season, we have an abridged, slightly more positive version of "Best and Worst Moments from the Week in Television" for you on this Monday aka Christmas Eve Eve. We've only got one for our "Best" and "Worst" this week, and we really only have a "Worst" because of an egregious error on the part of a certain reality singing show. So without further ado, let's get to it.

Best Moment

1)   How I Met Your Mother brings Ted one big step closer to his wife: Season 9 of How I Met Your Mother has been rocky, to say the least. The show has delivered some truly wonderful emotional moments and some truly facepalm-worthy installments in the first half of the final season. But we give credit where credit is due, and HIMYM delivered with "Bass Player Wanted." The Mother (Cristin Milioti) picked up Marshall, who FINALLY arrived at the Farhampton Inn after one of the worst subplots in the history of the show. Not only that, but Ted and The Mother nearly crossed paths when he knocked out Darren (guest star Andrew Rannells from Girls), the lead singer who had tried to take over The Mother's band. She bought him a drink, but wasn't there when he received it. Still, all the major players are now under one roof, and it looks as though the second half of the season will pick up steam. We only have one gripe: how did Marshall not learn the Mother's name?!

Worst Moment

1) The X Factor disrespects Demi Lovato: Look, we don't want to say there's a conspiracy at play here, but news broke the night before The X Factor Season 3 finale that Demi Lovato would not return for Season 4. Then, during the show's results finale, a video package aired that showed Lovato, who went through drinking and drug problems a few years ago, repeatedly drinking a cocktail of what looked like Absinthe and Coke and called it "Annoying Juice." A camera stayed on Lovato's face in the bottom-left corner of the screen and she, obviously unhappy, clearly said the words, "That's f*cked up." We agree, Demi.
