Childhood star Marla Sokoloff recently opened up about an issue that moms, celebrity or not, have dealt with at one time or another, mommy guilt.
Earlier this month, Sokoloff posted a blog entitled "Searching for the Mommy Guilt Handbook." In the blog, which Sokoloff writes for her People celebrity blog, she tells readers about the first time she parted ways with her baby for a nine day trip to Chicago.
Sokoloff describes how hard it was to leave her 21 month-old daughter Elliotte behind in Los Angeles. She says she weighted the idea of whether to take her daughter to Chicago or leave her home in Los Angeles with Sokoloff's husband and Elliotte's father, Alec Puro and the family's nanny.
This would surely be a tough decision for any mother. Sokoloff, like many mothers before her, said she felt "intense" mommy guilt at the thought of leaving Elliotte.
Seems understandable for a woman with her first child, right?
Sokoloff ended up leaving her daughter in Los Angeles but in coping with her decision, she was in search of a mommy quilt handbook. To much surprise she couldn't find one so Sokoloff decided to take matters into her own hands.
She interviewed a few mommy friends and shared their thoughts on the subject in her blog post. Check out Sokoloff's blog post here.
Marla Sokoloff is an actress as well as a singer. She has been acting for over 20 years. She made her acting debut as Gia Mahan in the television sitcom Full House.
