Justin Bieber is "officially" retiring. At least according to Twitter.

On Christmas Eve evening (Dec. 24), the Biebs sent out these shocking tweets:

@justinbieber: "My beloved beliebers I'm officially retiring."

@justinbieber: "The media talks a lot about me.They make a up a lot of lies and want me to fail but I'm never leaving you, being a belieber is a lifestyle."

@justinbieber: "Be kind loving to each other, forgive each other as god forgave us through Christ Merry Christmas IM HERE FOREVER."

Beliebers worldwide are totally freaking out. Is the "Believe" crooner really retiring at the early age of 19?

Bieber said that he was planning his retirement a few weeks ago, but several fans brushed it off as a prank. As Mstars previously reported:

The uber pop megastar recently announced that after his next album ("Complete My Journals") he's officially retiring from music...

The Biebs later went on to explain to MTV News, "I wanna get to know my family more... I've been away so much, I've missed a lot of great years with my brother and sister." In 2014, Bieber wants to "figure out myself as a man."

Bieber's entourage insists that Selena Gomez's ex is just joking - according to manager Scooter Braun, Selena Gomez's ex just needs some time "for himself." But he'll be back in the studio soon, because that's where he likes to be."

The "As Long As You Love Me" singer DID promise his Beliebers "something special" in the New Year. "I want to say thank you so much to each and every one of you for staying by my side," he told fans. "I love you with all my heart."

Is THIS his special announcement? What do readers think?
