The Big Bang Theory is the most watched sitcom on television and it asserted its dominance once again with an easy victory in the ratings on Thursday night, the day after Christmas, despite airing a repeat episode from earlier in Season 7.
Ratings were down across the board thanks to the holiday week and a lack of new original programming, but CBS scored the win for the night in both the adults 18-49 demographic with a 1.4 rating and in total viewers with 6.5 million. The Big Bang Theory's repeat led the way with a 2.6 rating in the adults 18-49 demo.
ABC aired a special news report called Secrets of the Castle that earned a 1.0 demo rating. The Shark Tank repeat that aired just prior to that helped the network earn a 1.1 rating in the demo and 5.1 million total viewers for the night.
NBC aired an encore presentation of its special The Women of Saturday Night Live, which earned a 1.3 demo rating. The network stayed even with ABC with a 1.1 rating in the demo and attracted 3.4 million viewers.
On Fox, Glee repeats earned a 0.4 demo rating and 1.5 million viewers. The CW also aired all repeats on Thursday night to the tune of a 0.3 demo rating and 905,000 viewers.
