Rihanna To Play Lead in Animated Film after 'Battleship' Debut

Singer and growing actress Rihanna is going to add another film to her expanding resume.  She plans to undertake the lead role opposite of Jim Parsons in a film based on Adam Rex's "The True Meaning of Smekday."  

The story revolves around a group of aliens who have escaped from their enemies in another world to hide on Earth.  One alien slips the secret hideout location to the enemies by accident and ends up running away with a teenage girl. They run away and end up traveling around America discovering many things about humanity in the journey.

Rihanna's first try at acting in the movie Battleship has led her to receive more scripts.  When asked by MTV if she has a clear plan about her acting career, Rihanna responded saying, "You can't plan for the unknown."  The singer confessed that she wasn't even sure if she would like acting or if she would be any good at it.  She also admits to not having any specific 5 year plan about her acting career.  

Only time can tell if we will be seeing more of Rihanna on the silver screen.
