Looks like DMX has put some of his financial woes to rest and he's ready to go abroad, too.
According to TMZ, the rapper recently settled a $1 million child support case with BM, Patricia Trejo. DMX was accused to owing more than 10 years of back child support.
His large debt hindered him from getting a passport and he missed out on gigs overseas. Maybe that would've helped him with enough cash flow to pay Trejo.
Nonetheless, DMX's rep told TMZ the child support case has now been settled. He didn't disclose how much but he did say the rapper paid a huge chunk. Good for him. Now DMX can do his gigs abroad and make some of that money back.
Word is he's already started on a tour in Europe. He will be performing Dec. 31 in Beirut and Jan. 6 in Bulgaria.
Just last month DMX filed for bankruptcy. His latest filing was promptly dismissed.
A federal judge threw out DMX's case (real name Earl Simmons) stating there were "obvious inconsistencies regarding his income and assets."
In his paperwork, the rapper claimed he had a monthly income of $5,000 in one filing but listed his income as $1, 667 in another. He also claimed that he spent $1,000 per month on clothes but listed $0 worth of clothes as an asset.
The federal judge said it was "impossible to ascertain his financial affairs" while U.S. Trustee Tracy Hope Davis said Simmons failed to provide trustworthy information in his bankruptcy filing.
Hopefully DMX can get himself back on his feet.
