'GMA' anchor Robin Roberts - no secret she was gay, but tells all why she decided to come out on Facebook

Mstars recently reported that GMA anchor, Robin Roberts finally "came out" yesterday about her sexuality on facebook.

According to TMZ, Robin who has been open about being gay says she just didn't feel the need to go public until life challenges she faced changed her mind.

Sources close to Robin say that everyone in her life, family, friends and co-workeres knew she was gay and that the GMA anchor had been in a 10-year relationship with Amber Laign. 

According to TMZ, the couple met back in San Francisco through mutual friends.

Amber who is originally from the bay area works as a massage therapist specializing in helping people with injuries. She has her own private practice and attended the Swedish Institute of Health Sciences, according to Linked In.

Sources also reveal that Amber was very devoted and focused on Robin when she went through both of her illnesses, supporting her through her breast cancer battle in 2007 and Myelodysplastic Syndrome in 2012.  Robin, who was visually ill, told Amber that she was her rock.

If the relationship was no secret than why did Robin decide to tell all on facebook you ask? TMZ says the anchor never felt the need to tell the world, but with having such a difficult year she wanted to acknowledge what Amber did for her, and how she supported her throughout her illness.

Looks like Amber is sticking with Robin through sickness and in health, making their bond stronger.
