Willie and Korie Robertson of Duck Dynasty spoke out on Fox News Tuesday night during the network's program "All-American New Year" with Bill Hemmer and Elisabeth Hasselbeck. After a tremendous amount of controversy and publicity, the family members finally gave their input on Phil Robertson's anti-gay remarks and the resulting push back from the A&E network.
"We're just glad to be back to work," Willie said. "A&E and us are fine. ... We're looking forward to getting back to making some funny shows. It's a new year, so we're ready to break in a new year and start all over again."
He added: "We're ready to get started. We got a new season coming up in a couple weeks, and we're really excited about that. We got a couple episode filmed ... and we're ready to move on. I think we all learned a lot, and we're just ready to move on, and the family's happy and ready to go."
The next season of Duck Dynasty will begin airing on Jan. 15. Despite all of the drama following Phil's remarks published in GQ, it appears that the shows followers will possibly stay true to the cast members and continue to be loyal viewers. GLAAD and the Humans Right Campaign definitely spoke out against the message, but Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh defended his right to free speech.
"We just try to stick together have fun, we laugh at ourselves and forgive each other," Korie Robertson said. "At the end of day, we sit down and thank God for our blessings ,and we're gonna continue to do that and hopefully we can spread that message. And I think, as a country, if we can come back to that a little bit, we'll have a great 2014."
