2013 was undeniably Drake's year. The Canadian actor turned rapper dropped one of the year's best selling albums and some of the dopest verses but, come to find out Drizzy may not be coming up with all of his verses on his own.
We hate to say it's true but Drizzy was recently called out by San Francisco rapper Rappin' 4-Tay for stealing lyrics.
Earlier this week, YG's "Who Do You Love" featuring Drake hit the internet. The track, produced by DJ Mustard, has that signature Cali sound, prompting enough rapper to pay homage to the Golden State but apparently Drake went too far.
Drizzy starts of his verse with this:
"I got a shorty name Texas and
She got a buddy name Young JB and now you know the deal
We turnt up in the studio late night
That's why the songs that you hear are comin' real tight"
Those lyrics sounded shockingly familiar to Rappin' 4-Tay as he recalled his 1994 single "Playaz Club" where he rapped:
"I got a ho named Reel-to-Reel
She got a buddy named SP 12, now you know the deal
We gets freaky in the studio late night
That's why the beats that you hear are coming real tight"
Hmmm, coincidence?
In what seems to be normal fashion now, Rappin' 4-Tay went to Twitter to call Drake out. He sent out a tweet saying this:
"New Song w/ @YG Feat @Drake In This Song Drake Copys My Lyrics & Lines From My PlayazClub Song & Pays No Homage! ??? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOhEfKFu0ls ..."
He then tweeted at Drake to direct message him about the situation.
