Even though it might seem like it because her voice was omnipresent on guest spots and news of her relationship was everywhere, Rihanna actually didn't release an album in 2013. It was the first year since 2008 that the High Princess of Barbados didn't drop a solo release. Luckily for all of us, rachet auteur DJ Mustard has set about fixing that in 2014. The "Rack City" producer claims he's already hit the studio with RiRi to begin work on her new album.
"I'm finna go in with Rihanna," he revealed, saying "of course it is" for her next album. "I'm just doing what I think she would like, and if she don't like it we'll just figure out something else in the studio, and I'll just keep making beats 'till she figure it out. But she's gonna get one."
I'm all for anything that will pull RiRi out of this underwater, space monster sound she's been so in love with recently. While I'll admit I haven't genuinely enjoyed anything she's released since "Disturbia", I will admit that a dose of "I'm Different" might have saved "Pour It Up" for me.
What do you think of Rihanna working with DJ Mustard?
