Emma Watson splits from long-term boyfriend

New year, fresh start. Emma Watson is starting off 2014 as a single woman.

Well, technically she's been a single woman for some time now but it looks like she has no plans of rekindling that old flame.

Watson and her ex, William Adamowicz, reportedly met when they were both students at Oxford University in the UK.

A spokesperson told the Sunday Mirror newspaper this of the couple:

"Emma and Will separated last summer and are no longer in touch."

The two were spotted at an acoustic folk rock concert together back in November but sparks stopped flying some months ago.

According to reports, the two split because of Emma's hectic work schedule. Finding a balance between her education, personal life and movie career was probably really difficult.

It was recently reported that Emma wants to focus solely on her academics. The 23-year-old actress is currently studying English at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.

A close source had this to say of Emma and her relationship with William:

"Emma is in demand with Hollywood directors but has so much to focus on with her studies that she has had to pass on a few things - she simply can't do everything. It's tough but she believes it was the right thing."

Seems like a pretty responsible and reasonable decision. What do you think?
