Fans have had a few weeks to process (and adjust, if necessary) to the news that Gal Gadot of the Fast and the Furious franchise would play Wonder Woman in the Man of Steel sequel tentatively titled Batman vs. Superman. Much of the story of the film is still unknown, but part of the focus has turned to the characters' costumes. A new piece of information may have shed some light on Gadot's attire in the film.
El Mayimbe, who heads the generally reliable spoiler site Latino Review, posted on Twitter that Gadot's version of Wonder Woman could be wearing armor instead of the typical shorts and strapless top that has become synonymous with the character. Here's what El Mayimbe had to say:
Gal Gadot's WONDER WOMAN outfit will consist of ARMOR. Not the Lynda Carter itty bitty outfit. I hear it looks dope. RT & embed!

While some fans may be disappointed with the change, it makes sense in the context of the film. The first Man of Steel featured a climactic battle in Metropolis that nearly leveled half the city. If Batman vs. Superman features a conflict serious enough to draw in both The Dark Knight AND Wonder Woman, then Gadot's character is going to need more than the threads worn by Lynda Carter in the 1970s TV series.
Plus, director Zack Snyder has indicated that he cast the part for more than just looks, and showing off Gadot's body would only go so far in serving the plot of the film.
What do you think, comic/movie fans? Are you okay with this potential change, or should the Man of Steel sequel stick with the classic look? Let us know in the comments below.
