In the brand new video game Alien: Isolation, the developers at Creative Assembly have decided to take a new look at the popular film franchise in another way. Instead of the previous (and failed) takes on creating a video game adaptation of the series, Isolation introduces the iconic monster to the world of survival-horror gaming. Plus the playable character is none other than Amanda Ripley, the daughter of Sigourney Weaver's character from the films that was mentioned but not explored until now!

In the first sequel of the series, Aliens, Ellen Ripley (Weaver) was frozen in cryogenic sleep and is told that her daughter Amanda has since died. That was all we got to hear and learn about Amanda, until the developers at Creative Assembly decided to use this character as the star of this new game.

Check out the developers explaining the new video game right here:

Gammasquad reports:

"If you were wondering, the gameplay clips you see are from the PlayStation 4 build of the game, and the lighting is appropriately moody and scary. Probably the most attention-getting aspect of this particular bug hunt is the fact that the Alien in question is completely unscripted. What he decides to do is up to the clues you give him regarding, you know, eating you. That's a good thing not least because way too many survival horror games are ruined by spoilers that are obvious from the map. Creative Assembly has been working on this for three years: We'll be seeing the fruits of their labor sometime this year."
