AMC's wildly popular zombie show The Walking Dead is currently on hiatus during Season 4 after the devastating events of the midseason finale. The Governor (David Morrissey) attacked the prison with a tank and killed multiple characters. He himself even perished in the process. The damage left Rick and Carl on the run as father told son not to look back.

After such a brutal turn of events, fans have wondered what's next for the duo. Luckily, executive producer Robert Kirkman offered a tease in the "Mega Buzz" column at TV Guide:

"Do you know what's coming up during the second half of The Walking Dead? - Donny
With Carl and Rick out on their own, things will be looking pretty bleak when the show returns. But executive producer Robert Kirkman teases a happy ending. 'We started the season pretty hopeful and pretty optimistic,' he says. 'We'll open our last half of the season pretty bleak and we'll move them to something a little more hopeful by the end.' Does this mean that Alexandria is on the horizon?"

For those of you unfamiliar with the graphic novel on which the show is based, Alexandria is a safe zone a few miles outside of Washington, D.C. where Rick and his group of survivor spend a significant portion of time. Rick eventually gets put in charge of the place. Of course, because this is The Walking Dead, things don't go smoothly as zombies attack and war eventually breaks out with The Saviors, but let's not worry about that just yet.
