HBO premiere dates: 'Game of Thrones,' 'Veep,' 'Silicon Valley,' 'VICE' and 'True Detective'

The Game of Thrones season 3 finale left audiences on the edge of their seats, wondering just how long they would have to wait to see what happens next. The date has finally arrived: April 6th, according to Deadline. The Television Critics Association (TCA) presentation today announced the following lineup of what else you can expect that night (all in eastern time):

9pm - Game of Thrones season 4 premiere

10pm - Veep season 3 premiere

10:30 pm - Silicon Valley season 1 premiere - Mike Judge's new sitcom with comedian T.J. Miller

The next Sunday, VICE season 2 will premiere (and reportedly not include a controversial episode with Dennis Rodman this time around).

You can also look out for the HBO film The Normal Heart in May -- formerly a play by Larry Kramer. The TV movie will include Mark Ruffalo, Julia Roberts, Matt Bomer and Jim Parsons.

We're talking a lot about months down the road, so we'll tell you some things to look forward to next Sunday, January 12th. The drama series True Detective will premiere at 9pm with Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. Right before this (precisely at 8:58pm) you can catch a sneak peek of the season 4 of Game of Thrones with a brand-new trailer. 

Though McConaughey and Harrelson have been known for their roles in comedies as well, True Detective will be a thriller. The plot revolves around a hunt for a serial killer. Seems this new HBO season will have quite the diversity in programming.
