Sneakerheads are in luck. The Air Jordan brand just dropped some exciting news for Jordan fans in the New York City area.
The Air Jordan Brand and retail sneaker chain Footaction have teamed up to bring New York Flight 23.
According to Nike, Inc., the store will open on West 34th Street between 7th and 8th Avenues. The location is one block from Madison Square Garden.
The brand's president, Larry Miller, posted this statement on its website:
"We're excited to launch North America's first Jordan Brand exclusive retail experience for athletes at the top of their game who demand the absolute best in both performance and style. We will work with Footaction to bring Flight 23 to markets across North America, and can't imagine a better place to start than one of the best basketball cities in the world, New York."
New Yorkers passing by can see a new 18-foot tall classic Jordan shoebox serving as a construction barrier.
How exciting? More details about the New York Flight 23 store will roll out soon.
The Jordan Brand has been making some pretty exciting announcements lately. Last month, Drake announced that he signed a new shoe deal with Nike and Michael Jordan.
During a concert in Portland, Drake shared the good news with fans saying, "Today I came to Portland, and I officially became inducted into the Team Jordan family."
Drizzy went on to say it was one of the best days of his life.
We're looking forward to good things coming from the Jordan Brand this year.
