Just last month, Mstars reported that the family of Ol' Dirty Bastard had resolved their legal issues and released the documentary entitled Dirty: Platinum Edition online. Well it looks like the family has decided to take their talents to the small screen and produce a reality TV show.
According to HipHopDX.com, ODB's family, including his widow Icelene Jones, has teamed up with Four Screen Productions to produce a forthcoming reality show.
Four Screen is responsible for the Rock The Bells ODB hologram and the YDB/ODB performance. HipHopDX.com reports that the family is more than satisfied with the company's performance. Messiah Jacobs is the president of Four Screen.
Here's what Mrs. Jones had to say about the deal:
"Four Screen is a company that makes things happen. We wanted to create a reality show and we are doing it. We wanted to have an ODB hologram at Rock the Bells and we did it. We wanted my son Young Dirty to perform there and he did. Messiah and his team make it happen and that is what this estate is about."
Hopefully ODB's family won't be faced with as much drama as they encountered with the documentary.
The documentary was supposed to be shown at the NuHo Film Festival back in November but due to a cease and desist order issued by ODB's Estate, the film was prevented from being screened.
Chris Kanik, owner of the festival, had this to say of ODB's family:
"Unfortunately his family would rather exploit his likeness for a quick payday rather than helping build his estate's value. They're looking for a handout rather than building some sort of value for ODB."
Let's hope their reality TV stint isn't another cash cow.
