The idea of "remembering to forget" someone isn't exactly original (see: Modest Mouse's "A Different City", Colin Raye's "I Can Still Feel You"), but that won't keep Shakira and Rihanna's new duet "Can't Remember To Forget You" from blowing the minds of the world's emotional 14-year-olds.
Check out the just released collab below:
Honestly, when I first heard of a duet between Shakira and RiRi, I expected a bombastic, obvious chart-panderer (a la "The Monster"). To hear the song kick off with a section of skanking guitar and horn riffs was a pleasant surprise that got better when those same guitars devolved into distorted power chords for the chorus.
The track has a lot more to offer than it's "torch song for tweens" profile implies.
What do you think of "Can't Remember To Forget You"?
