As MStars reported Monday, actor Jason Momoa (best known as Khal Drogo on HBO's Game of Thrones) spoke to IGN and denied any rumors that he would have a part in the Man of Steel sequel currently titled Batman vs. Superman. And yet the rumors persist, and a new report indicates that the actor could be diving into the water as Aquaman.

Devin Faraci of Badass Digest reports through "a very, vey trusted source" that Momoa was up for the role of Aquaman as a way to set up the Justice League movie, which is now rumored to shoot back-to-back with Batman vs. Superman. Here's what Faraci had to say:

"I was recently told by a very, very trusted source that the role Jason Momoa was up for (but is currently denying) is definitely Aquaman, but it's essentially a cameo setting up the next movie. Momoa's denials today could just be a smokescreen intended to protect the surprise nature of the cameo, although if the films are shooting back-to-back we'll know soon enough."

If true, then this would mean that Josh Holloway (who famously played James "Sawyer" Ford on ABC's Lost), who had been rumored for a part in the film, would not play Aquaman as some have speculated.

But the interesting note here is that Warner Bros. seems to be going all in on using this movie to push toward a Justice League movie and a DC movie universe similar to what Marvel has done with its properties. As always, nothing is official until it comes from the studio, so only time will truly tell.

What do you make of all this, movie fans? Will Momoa have a role in the movie? Will Holloway? Neither? Both? Let us know in the comments below.
