Charli XCX upped her profile considerably by giving her song "I Love It" to Swedish duo Icona Pop. The dance-pop stars turned the track into the smash hit of 2012-13, depending on who you talk to. Now Sweden is giving one back to Charli in the form of "Allergic To Love." Charli released her cover of the The Snuffed By The Yakuza track on Twitter and the raw, Hives-meets-Avengers sound might come as a bit of a shock to fans.
There are elements of her dance pedigree, that is a drum machine keeping time after all, but for the most part the track plays as straight punk. Charli's fans don't seem to mind the abrubt shift.

Charli XCX has said her new album would be "raw."
"I feel like everyone's expecting me to make a 'synth-pop' record... I hate that term so much, I can't think of anything worse. The music I'm making now is so much more live." she said.
