ABC's soapy Sunday night drama Revenge has dropped references to the father of Margaux LeMarchal (Karine Vanasse), and now fans will finally get to meet the man that seems to cause his daughter a great deal of distress.
Deadline first reported exclusively that Olivier Martinez would join the show as Pascal LeMarchal, a media magnate who owns the company that Margaux has been working for throughout the season. According to the report, Pascal is "a cutthroat businessman" who "has a competitive history with Conrad (Henry Czerny) and and even more complicated one with Victoria (Madeleine Stowe)." Conrad and Victoria, of course, refer to the Graysons, the rich and powerful family at the center of all the drama on the show.
The deal is Martinez's biggest U.S. television commitment ever, as he normally participates in films. His wife, Halle Berry, made a similar move when she joined CBS' summer drama Extent.
This news comes shortly after the announcement that Revenge had upgraded Vanasse to a series regular for Season 4, should the show return. Given its ratings, it's a pretty safe bet.
Revenge stars Emily VanCamp as Emily Thorne, Madeleine Stowe as Victoria Grayson, Gabriel Mann as Nolan Ross, Henry Czerny as Conrad Grayson, Nick Wechsler as Jack Porter, Joshua Bowman as Daniel Grayson, Barry Sloane as Aiden Mathis and Christa B. Allen as Charlotte Grayson.
What do you think, Revenge fans? Did the show cast the right man for the part? How will Pascal get involved with the chaos in the Hamptons? Let us know in the comments below.
