Here's something I never thought I'd say: Django Django and Adele have something in common. The Scottish rockers, like the 21 songstress, are on lockdown to crank out a sophomore album full of their patented psych-bomp.
The band simply hasn't had time to work on new music. After their meteoric rise, the band grinded their way through a hectic 2013 that included a Mercury prize nomination and a tour of America.
This time last year we were talking about doing the next album. Then we got asked to do the NME Awards Tour and to go to America, all this mad stuff we couldn't turn down," drummer Dave Maclean told NME.
Don't expect Django to blow up their sound and start over. According to Maclean, they are working in the same groove that yielded success last year.
We can't seem to escape our sound; Vincent's playing surf guitar, Tommy's playing his John Carpenter keyboards and the harmonies come out. My job is to make sense of all those pieces at the right time."
Django Django's self-titled debut is out now.
