Yesterday (Jan. 17) Mstars reported that Madonna had a slip of the tongue, or finger rather, and drop the N-bomb in an Instagram post. Her post sent social media crazy and today (Jan. 18) the pop queen took it upon herself to issue an apology for using the racial slur in her photo caption.
Madonna posted an image with the text reading:
"I am sorry if I offended anyone with my use of the N-word on Instagram. It was not meant as a racial slur ... I am not a racist. There's no way to defend the use of the word. It was all about intention ... it was used as a term of endearment toward my son who is white. I appreciate that it's a provocative word and I apologize if it gave people the wrong impression. Forgive me."
The caption with the image said, "My job is to inspire and bring people together. My message has always been about tolerance and non-judgment. The last thing I want to do is bring chaos or cause separation in anyway. #revolutionoflove"
Madonna sparked controversy over her use of the N-word after posted a photo of her son Rocco boxing with the caption: "No one messes with Dirty Soap! Mama said knock you out! #disni**a." She quickly removed the image, and then uploaded it again with a different, less offensive caption.
The photo has since been completely removed from her profile.
Madonna recently came under fire earlier this month for another photo she posted of her teenage son and two underage friends holding liquor with the caption: "The party has just begun! Bring it! 2014."
