One of the more impressive performances of 2013 came from relative newcomer, Margot Robbie. The 22-year-old Australian beauty captivated audiences of The Wolf of Wall Street, opening the door for the rest of her career to start. Her career is rumored to be taking off quickly now, with her name becoming attached to new projects including a "black list" film, Z for Zachariah, and the upcoming David Yates blockbuster, Tarzan, opposite True Blood's Alexander Skarsgard.
In Z for Zachariah, Robbie has allegedly replaced Amanda Seyfried in the leading role. According to Slashfilm, this highly anticipated film "centers on a young woman (Robbie) in a post-apocalyptic world. She believes herself to be the only human being left alive, until two men emerge."
These two men will be played by Chris Pine and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Clearly this will be another big movie for Robbie in terms of critical acclaim. Do you think she can lead such a heavy film so early in her budding career?
Moving onto the new Tarzan adaptation, Robbie has been attached to rumors for this movie for quite some time. Other actresses rumored for the role of Jane included Emma Stone and Jessica Chastain, but it looks like Robbie has won out.
This film might have a little less pressure than the aforementioned "black list" movie above, but it will definitely be one seen by millions (hopefully). Director David Yates is best known for his work on the last Harry Potter films and Skarsgard has a whole fanbase thanks to his work on True Blood. Do you think Robbie will perform well in this movie?
