While taking a break from filming the Breaking Bad season 5 episode "Cold Comes the Night," series star Bryan Cranston told the group of production assistants working on the show that he would read any of the scripts they had been working on and then act in the one he likes the most. The winner was Brandon Polanco, who wrote Writer's Block. The short film is now available for streaming on YouTube and below on this page!
Polanco described his short film as "a story of a group of young people getting a chance to tell a story that would teach us another level of filmmaking ... a chaotic love affair that evokes my true feelings toward writing," when interviewed by his hometown newspaper the Austin Chronicle back in November. "Since we were shooting upstate and not in the city, the producers asked us to stay on location. Bryan decided that he wanted to make another film, a short film, and that it would it only be for the production assistants."

"I literally had to pull myself away from my computer last night," the aspiring filmmaker said in a post on his Facebook page this week. "The amount of support and buzz that has been swirling around this little film... well I just don't know what to say other than thank you."
Here is the finished project: the 13-minute short film entitled Writer's Block:
