Scandal will return on Feb. 27 to complete Season 3, which ABC reduced from 22 to 18 episodes due to star Kerry Washington's pregnancy. Luckily, we've got plenty of spoilers on the Shonda Rhimes hit to hold you over until the show returns.
First, fans will remember that Huck (Guillermo Diaz) tortured Quinn and even pulled out one of her teeth in an effort to get information from her about B613. He later kicked her out of Olivia Pope and Associates when she tried to return. But was that an official firing?
The "Mega Buzz" column at TV Guide tackles that very question this week:
"Is Quinn really no longer a Gladiator on Scandal? -Jonas
Well, for now. But wait until Olivia finds out that Huck ousted her from the group! Prepare for one Huck of a fight! 'He doesn't feel bad about what he did to Quinn,' Guillermo Diaz says. 'He only feels bad that Olivia is upset at him for doing what he did. [But] he's not apologizing for it and he's standing his ground.'"
As expected, only Olivia Pope fires people from Olivia Pope's empire!
Elsewhere, the "Ask Ausiello" column at TVLine got bits of information from Bellamy Young about Jon Tenney's (The Closer) role during the second half of the season:
"Asked to preview The Closer alum Jon Tenney's upcoming Season 3B run, Bellamy Young reports with a big (albeit cryptic) smile, 'We are having fun with Mr. Tenney - a great, great deal of fun.' Pressed to elaborate, she adds: 'His character, Andrew, is someone that we have... uh... I don't know what I'm allowed to say!' Well, since Andrew is reportedly a romantic interest for the long forsaken First Lady, does he arrive in her life at a good time? Young laughs - a lot -before responding, "Is there ever a good time in Mellie's life?!'"
So it looks like things won't be all sunshine and rainbows for the First lady, even with a new man in her life.
