Katy Perry's Life Story and Religious Past

Pop star Katy Perry is revealing her side of the story on her upcoming "Part of Me" film.  It's not what the tabloids or the press write or know.  Perry speaks for herself in this one.

Perry said in a clip from Part of Me, "Being a kid in my household consisted of going to a lot of church activities.  My upbringing was Pentecostal Christianity."

Her sister Angela Hudson appears in the video as well, and shares about how they grew up as traveling ministers.  Perry debuted first as a Christian rock singer under the label Red Hill at age 15, but it didn't go anywhere.
