For the third week in a row, Pitbull and Ke$ha are ruling the music scene with their party happy, genre-bending single "Timber."
According to Billboard, the country-infused rap song has retained its No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 10 this week, thanks to its multi-platform success, as the track succeeds (though does not dominate) on radio, streaming services and digital downloads. This week, "Timber" sold 202,000 digital singles.
Right behind "Timber," Katy Perry comes riding in on her "Dark Horse." The surprise third Prism single has had a remarkable rise on the Hot 100, now peaking at No. 2. "Dark Horse," which features Juicy J, has easily eclipsed Perry's second single "Unconditionally," as the song tops Digital Songs with 261,000 copies sold and On-Demand Songs. "Dark Horse" has also risen on radio and streaming services (topping Spotify in the US) and is well on its way to the No. 1 spot.
After peaking at No. 2 for two weeks, OneRepublic's "Counting Stars" has fallen one spot to No. 3, getting trampled by "Dark Horse." However, "Counting Stars" is now the most popular song on radio, peaking at the top of Radio Songs chart, giving OneRepublic its first chart-topper.
Hot 100 mainstay "Say Something" from A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera returns to its No. 4 peak as the former No. 1 song "The Monster" falls to No. 5.
Two more familiar songs sit at Nos. 6 and 7. Passenger's "Let Her Go" remains the sixth most popular song in the county and Lorde also holds tight at No. 7 with "Royals."
A new song from the former nine week chart-topper has broken into the Hot 100's top 10, as Lorde's "Team" rises to the No. 8 spot. With 133,000 digital downloads sold and a slight rise in streaming and radio plays, "Team" is aiming easily to be Lorde's second straight smash hit.
The other debut in the top 10 this week goes to Bastille's debut single "Pompeii," which rose to No. 10 this week with a slight rise in streams and radio play.
In between those new songs, One Direction's "Story Of My Life" rose to No. 9.
That means Avicii's "Wake Me Up!" has finally fallen from the top 10, alongside Imagine Dragons' "Demons."
