Adrien Broner compares himself to Floyd Mayweather, says he's the closet thing to him and opens up about Maidana fight

They say birds of a feather flock together and it seems kind of obvious why Floyd Mayweather has taken newbie boxer Adrien Broner under his wing. Both guys have a super confident attitude and a very showy persona but when it comes to their boxing records, things start to go left.

Both boxers were undefeated until Broner's fight with Marcos Maidana. Maidana shocked everyone when he shut Broner down with two knockdowns and near knockout.

In a recent interview with Showtime Sports, Broner showed just how highly he thinks of himself with his latest Mayweather comparison. He also opened up about what happened during the Maidana fight.

Broner claims that he was somewhat blind sighted by Maidana during the fight saying, "What I need to tell everybody that isn't inside that squared circle, sometimes when you get hit with good shots, it's some shots you just don't see. You're gonna get hit with big shots."

But he isn't letting that stop him from getting back in the ring. Broner says he's ready for a rematch.

"We're ready to go back to camp. We're ready for the rematch," Broner said. "If we could've fought him on Sunday (the day after the fight), we would've fought him on Sunday."

Not everyone thinks it's a good idea to have a rematch so soon but Broner claims he's ready.

"I'm a fighter. If I go on, I know I can beat anybody. If I (do something else), then what they say? 'Oh, at least Maidana beat him.' I'm the closest thing to Floyd Mayweather, so since I took my loss, everybody feel like Floyd Mayweather took a loss."

Those sound like fighting words Adrien.
