[Update: It has come to our attention via Paramount's lawyers that the photo of Shredder that previously accompanied this article is unauthorized, and we have removed the photo from the article.]
Just days after word spread that a Halloween costume might indicate the look of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in Michael Bay's remake, new photos have surfaced of what is reportedly the look of Shredder, the Turtles' main nemesis, in the movie.
The photo is reportedly just a rough draft. As always, take it with a grain of salt as this is not in any way officially confirmed as the look of Shredder in the movie:
William Fichtner (The Lone Ranger) will play Shredder. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toy line based on the upcoming film described the character in the following way (via Screen Rant):
"Pointy edges coming off of absolutely anything. He'll be the stuff of ridicule for some time. Very overcomplicated outfit."
The description aligns with the picture that has hit the Internet, so one might wonder now if the Turtles' costume description is accurate, as well:
"Michelangelo's costume sounds like the most modern of the bunch: 'a hoodie wrapped around his waist, pants and sneakers with the toes cut out, wrappings on his hands and forearms, a necklace (could be puka shell beads?) and his mask ends drape down to his chest." You can read the rest of the Turtles' individual descriptions here, though each of them seems to hint at a more traditional costume for the characters.
What do you think, TMNT fans? Is this Shredder, or is this just an unconfirmed bit of speculation? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
