The Jan. 31, 2014 edition of WWE's Friday Night Smackdown opens with The Shield. Dean Ambrose says the Elimination Chamber match was made for The Shield and if they were in it, then one of them would be WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

He says Roman Reigns broke the record for Royal Rumble eliminations, and he does not care that he took out other Shield members to do it. He adds that their focus is now on The Wyatt Family, who robbed them of their chance to become champion.

Triple H comes out and tells them to forget about the Wyatts, but Reigns stops him and says they do not need his permission. He asks the fans if they want to see the two teams fight at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view and then makes the match official.

Antonio Cesaro defeats Dolph Ziggler in an Elimination Chamber qualifying match.

Fandango defeats Xavier Woods (w/R-Truth and the Funkadactyls).

Ryback and Curtis Axel defeat the Prime Time Players after Titus O'Neil abandons Darren Young in the middle of the match. After the match, he calls Darren Young dead weight and says he is tired of being a loser. He says he wants to be the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, then attacks Young and leaves him in the middle of the ring.

Christian defeats Jack Swagger in another Elimination Chamber qualifying match. He later talks to Renee Young backstage about coming back and being in the Elimination Chamber match. For the record, the match now features Randy Orton, Daniel Bryan, John Cena, Sheamus, Christian and Antonio Cesaro.

Kofi Kingston defeats Damien Sandow.

Cody Rhodes defeats the Road Dogg. Afterwards, the New Age Outlaws and the Rhodes Brothers brawled but Cody and Goldust fought them off.

The Shield defeat Daniel Bryan, Sheamus and Rey Mysterio in the main event.
