Lorde has her own set of birth certificate hunting truthers, and they've just uncovered her age

While many people are impressed when they learn of Grammy winner Lorde's age, a small subset of people become skeptical. This has led to a group of mostly kidding "truthers" on the hunt for the (allegedly) 17-year-old pop star's birth certificate.

Somewhurr in New Zeeland, a village is... you get the idea. 

Well, The Hairpin unearthed Ella's birth certificate to find that, shockingly, the "Team" singer is just as old (or young) as she claims. That's right, Lorde is still 17 (and she happens to be Pakeha -- a Kiwi of European descent -- and not a Maori.

Somewhere out there a person is sadly removing post-it notes from their copy of Pure Heroine while muttering about chemtrails and WTC 7.

Those who are Lorde-obsessed have been stoked to find out that Lorde's younger sister India Yelich-O'Connor sings too. And if you thought that India has a long name with the hyphen and all, have a look at Lorde's full name: Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O'Connor. We still have much to learn about this young talent. Hopefully now more skeptics will actually believe, yes, Lorde's just 17.
