MStars has learned that Darryl Robinson a popular host on the Cooking Channel's Drink Up program was found dead in his New York City apartment Wednesday morning.
Robinson, 50 was an expert on making special cocktails. According to E!, NY1 and the New York Post, police responded to a call made by a concerned friend, and found Robinson in his apartment. The police also reported that no visual signs of forced entry, foul play or trauma was shown.
The investigation is still ongoing, and drugs were not found in the apartment. Robinson's body has been sent to a medical examiner, where an autopsy will be performed.
Robinson's friends at the Cooking Channel released a statement: "Upon learning of this morning's sad news, our thoughts go out to Darryl's family & friends."
Robinson's show, Drink Up, aired on the hit channel in 2010 and repeats in reruns. Robinson's Cooking Channel bio reveals that the star moved to NYC after graduating college in order to pursue an acting career.
Robinons started bar tending in 2005, at the Hudson Hotel "and earned recognition in the industry with his unique and flavorful combinations evident in each and every one of his cocktail creations."
The 50-year-old also made appearances on Access Hollywood, The Wendy Williams Show and Today.
