Even though production on the new Star Wars project, Episode VII, will reportedly start within the next few months, we have yet to have any real casting news for the J.J. Abrams film. This is why we get so excited about confirmed auditions that don't even lead to any real news besides the initially testing of an actor. So when Gary Oldman recently revealed that he had been approached for the film, we all got pretty excited for the prospect of him starring in the 2015 movie!
"They've called," Oldman stated.
"I'm more cynical about it now," he continued. "I'll believe it when I'm on the plane home. The deal isn't done. But yeah, they've inquired."
You can check out Oldman revealing this news in a new interview right here:
Though this is exciting, we have no idea what role Oldman was approached for and if he'll even take it. Do you think Oldman would be a good fit for Star Wars? Perhaps he'll go back to his days as a villain and become the next great Sith Lord?
Meanwhile, we still have no confirmed stars for the film. Not even Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, or Mark Hamill have been confirmed despite plenty of rumors linking the original trilogy's stars to the new production.
Whatever J.J. Abrams is planning for this sequel, we'll have to wait for an official announcement from Disney and Lucasfilm.
Are you still excited for the film? Let us know your thoughts and opinions on this seemingly endless guessing game that is Star Wars: Episode VII!
