The Rock was last seen on WWE television at WrestleMania 29 when he lost the WWE Championship to John Cena. He was planned to face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 30, but that plan fell by the wayside. Now, we have an update on The Rock's WWE future.

The Wrestling Observer reports that WWE told its merchandise department not to create any new products that only feature The Rock, though they can still use him in group images. The company told merchandise that 2015 is the earliest The Rock could return if he ever comes back. The Rock has yet to rule out WrestleMania 31, though he has said publicly that he doubts he will be at WrestleMania this April.

Sting WWE Update

The Wrestling Observer also notes that Sting's WWE contract is currently undergoing some fine-tuning, specifically, the merchandising section of the deal, but it is nearly complete. Wrestlezone.com also reports that a signing is imminent and that the announcement will happen shortly.

But the interesting note here is the F4WOnline.com report that WWE does not consider the signing a high priority, and the company is not treating the signing internally as a big deal.

Furthermore, Sting is not likely to compete at WrestleMania 30, though some WWE officials want to get him into the event.

Rob Van Dam's Possible Return Date

A fan asked Rob Van Dam on Twitter if the high flyer would return to WWE prior to WrestleMania 30, and RVD simply replied "I hope so." While this is obviously not confirmation of anything, it does show that the wrestler wants to get back into the ring soon.
