Mike Tyson, Pamela Anderson and Russell Brand slated to join the cast of 'Vernon God Little'

Mike Tyson, Pamela Anderson and Russell Brand are probably three people you'd never expect to co-star together but they are. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the three will be cast alongside Austin Abrams and Sasha Pieterse in Werner Herzog's adaptation of the Booker prize-winning novel Vernon God Little.

For those who aren't familiar with Vernon God Little, the novel tells the story of a normal teenager whose world is turned upside down when his best friend, Jesus Navarro, murders their classmates in the schoolyard, and Vernon is taken in for questioning. The story begins to unfold as Vernon is engulfed betrayal and accusation.

Tyson is slated to play Vernon. His role will also include delivering the title line of the novel. Abrams will star with Pieterse as his love interest.

No word on Pamela's role but Russell Brand will play a scheming news reporter looking for an exclusive angle on the story.

Producer Katja Eichinger is planning to get production started in the U.S. and Mexico this summer with Mexico's Canana Films. Producer Pablo Cruz is also aboard as a co-production partner. Eichinger's late husband, Bernd, bought the movie adaptation rights to the novel.

Stefan Arndt of Germany's X Filme is producing with Eichinger.
