'The Bachelor' recap and 10 best quotes from Juan Pablo and the ladies in New Zealand

Juan Pablo continues on in the journey for love again this week, and the drama took a backseat this round, mostly. Last week, the bachelor had a confrontation with Clare about their secret rendezvous in the ocean while visiting Vietnam. This week, that upset continues, and things get a little rocky with some of the other girls as well, even in the beautiful setting of New Zealand.

Andi finally got her first one-on-one date, after weeks of being very vocal about her disappointment otherwise. She was very relieved and could finally stop complaining about it, but little did she know he would be taking her into yet another one of his scary, challenging dates.

They went for a swim/hike in between extremely narrow, moss-covered walls of rock before reaching a waterfall. You know what that means: Waterfall make out. Then they had dinner under blankets and got showered by the nearby geyser. Very smoothly, Juan Pablo revealed a rose for Andi from zipped inside his coat.

Next Juan Pablo took out the other six girls for a group date in a New Zealand field surrounded by cows (which meant Clare was getting the last one-on-one).  The group stripped down into swimsuits to get inside giant plastic balls and roll down a hill. They all seemed to have a blast. The activity level gave them less time to complain about who was or wasn't getting time with the bachelor. They then had a unique cocktail party on the set of The Lord of the Rings.

It was Cassandra's birthday, and the girls were surprisingly friendly and celebratory, even having her blow out a candle with a group cheer.

But not only did Sharleen get the group date rose instead of Cassandra, as she was hoping for, he actually sent Cassandra home at the end of the date. He said it was because she needed to be with her son Trey, even though she wanted to stay. Quite the birthday present.

The one-on-one with Clare was partly dedicated to getting reconnected after all of the drama last week. They discussed boundaries and appeared to really get back on the same page with each other. Unless they are just keeping it quiet, it does seem like they really did just kiss that night. They ended up hanging out in sweatpants together at his place, dancing to the song they heard on their first date. She got a rose.

Things got a little tenser at the final cocktail party preceding the rose ceremony. The number of girls is really dwindling now, especially after Cassandra was sent home, and he seems to have legitimate interest in each of them.

Both Kat and Chelsie seemed to be the two who had the most on the line before the rose ceremony, considering they haven't had as much intimate time with Juan Pablo, and three of the other girls already had roses. But each of them took some time with the bachelor to put in their final plea to stick around and hopefully secure a spot.

And indeed it did come down to the two of them. Kat was left without a rose. After Kat was sent home, Sharleen had an emotional reaction and declared (to the cameras) that she'll stay one more week, and if she doesn't feel better about things, she will go home.
