Hulk Hogan's return to WWE has been discussed for months once the Hulkster's departure from TNA led many fans to wonder if he would come back to WWE in time for WrestleMania 30. After negotiations, the question became not if, but when Hogan would return. He was reportedly set to come back during the WWE Network announcement, but now his return date has been set, according to a new report.
PWInsider.com reports that Hogan and fellow WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy Hart have been booked to return during Monday Night Raw on Feb. 24 in Green Bay, the night that the WWE Network launches. This should be a stacked episode, as the Undertaker and Brock Lesnar are also set to appear, and some have speculated that Shawn Michaels could also make an appearance during the show. This is also the night after the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view.
It is still unknown at this time exactly how WWE would use Hogan for WrestleMania 30, but the prevailing wisdom is that he would not compete in a match. Instead, he would probably be involved in some other capacity, such as standing in someone's corner.
Former Intercontinental Champion Returns to Raw
[Update: WrestlingInc.com reports that rumors of Benjamin's return were fake and that Kidd and Benjamin even joked about it on Twitter. The Wrestlezone.com article has since been removed. We have kept the original description of Benjamin's "return" below.]
According to a reader report to Wrestlezone.com, former WWE Intercontinental Champion Shelton Benjamin made his return to Monday Night Raw at the Staples Center last night. Tyson Kidd came out first to a solid pop, but Benjamin then came out and the crowd went nuts. Benjamin earned the win when he hit a Game Changer on Kidd, who came off the top rope. The crowd popped hugely and the two men left the ring together.
