ABC's Scandal is already packed with stars, guest stars and recurring players, but the show has added one more to the list with Nazanin Boniadi, who has starred on Showtime's Homeland and CBS' How I Met Your Mother and who will have a recurring role on Scandal for the rest of Season 3.
The Hollywood Reporter first reported that Boniadi has joined Season 3 of Shonda Rhimes' hit show, though details on her character are under wraps; however, THR reports that "she will have a heavy presence in the remainder of the season," which will consist of just eight episodes.
Boniadi played FBI analyst Fara Sherazi on Homeland and as Barney's girlfriend Nora on HIMYM.
In other Scandal news, Dylan Minnette and Madeline Carroll have been cast as the children of President Fitzgerald Grant (Tony Goldwyn) and Mellie Grant (Bellamy Young). TVLine also reported the following in its "Ask Ausiello" column:
"Jerry shows up with a chip on his shoulder that makes him less than receptive to talking the talk that's being fed to him by a media consultant. Karen, meanwhile, initially comes off as very much her mother's daughter - she might even wonder aloud why Mellie puts up with that man - but said simpatico tune quickly changes when she finds out about [spoiler]."
