'Basketball Wives' star Laura Govan in trouble with the law, mother of four being sued for $170K

MStars has learned that former Basketball Wives, star Laura Govan is accused of violating federal laws with an Oakland California company, according to RadarOnline.

The mother of four was handed a lawsuit on Nov. 26, 2013 from G&G Closed Circuit Events, claiming that the bar she owns, Kimball's Carnival broadcasted a boxing match unlawfully, while making profits from the event.

"On December 1, 2012, Defendant Laura Sylvia Mendoza Govan, or by specifically directed the employees of Kimball's Carnival to unlawfully intercepted and broadcast Plaintiff's Program at Kimball's Carnival," the lawsuit describes.

"The actions of the employees of Kimball's Carnival are directly imputable to Defendant by virtue of ownership of Kimball's Carnival."
After reviewing the bar's liquor license, RadarOnline says that the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control proved that Govan is listed as the Primary Owner and License Owner.

G&G Closed Circuit also stated that as a "commercial distributor and licensor of sporting events," the reality star maliciously acted in an attempt to harm the company without giving them what they deserved, paying a licensing fee.

The company is wants $170,000 for the violation of the federal law, and their attorneys' fees.
