The series finale of How I Met Your Mother on March 31 is fast approaching (we know, we're not ready either), which means we have precious few moments left with Ted, Barney, Robin, Marshall, Lily and The Mother. It also means we have only a few more chances to soak up all the teases and spoilers we can until the show signs off for good.
So let's do it while we still can, and this latest nugget is an interesting one. The "Mega Buzz" column at TV Guide reports that series co-creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas knew many aspects of the finale years ago but made an interesting change recently.
"How about who gets the last line? Co-creator Craig Thomas says that although many aspects of the finale had been decided years ago, they recently decided to give the last line to "someone you don't expect -- maybe someone you haven't even met yet." Lest we forget, the finale will show the gang past 2030."
TV Guide previously reported Thomas' words that the finale could go past 2030, as the co-creator coyly said, "Well that is the future."
Cristin Milioti, who plays The Mother, told EW.com recently that the script exists but she has not seen it. There's been discussion," she said. "It's CIA-level lockdown. Our scripts are watermarked, and it feels really cool."
