Gal Gadot lands another movie role during 'Batman vs. Superman' movie production delays

The release date of Zack Snyder's untitled Man of Steel sequel, currently called Batman vs. Superman, has been pushed to May 2016 from July 2015. But the delay has given Gal Gadot, who plays Wonder Woman in the film, a chance to land a role in the big-budget police thriller Triple Nine, according to Times of Isreal.

The movie also stars Kate Winslet, Aaron Paul, Michael B. Jordan, Casey Affleck, Teresa Palmer, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Michael Pena and is set for a 2015 release.

Some fans are still concerned about Gadot's casting as Wonder Woman. Some feel that she does not have the right body type to play the character, but Warner Bros. and DC have brought in an expert trainer, Mark Twight, to prepare her for the part. Plus, she spent two years in the Israeli army, so any concerns about her physical condition should be easily erased.

Other fans who are concerned about her acting ability (which is another concern that is overblown) might feel better now that Gadot will be in the company of such high-caliber actors.

Warner Bros. released a statement back in January to explain the delay.

"We share the fans' excitement to see DC Comics' most popular figures, Superman and Batman, together on the big screen for the first time, which will now be arriving in theaters in May 2016," Dan Fellman, Warner Bros. president of domestic distribution, said in a press release.

Veronika Kwan Vandenberg, the president of international distribution for Warner Bros., added:

"We know that there is already great anticipation building for the next Super Hero [sic] film from Zack Snyder, and we are equally eager to see what he has in store for Superman and Batman as they share the big screen for the first time ever." 

The studio told TheWrap that the decision to push the movie is to "allow the filmmakers time to realize fully their vision, given the complex visual nature of the story."
