When it comes to the L.A. County Police Department, you can almost expect shady business, according to West Coast rapper YG. The "Left, Right" rapper recently had a run-in with the law and he gave a pretty interesting reason for why it all went down.
According to TMZ, YG was leaving a video shoot with Drake in Malibu at approximately 3:30 am Friday when he saw those infamous flashing lights.
The L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. tells TMZ the rapper was stopped because he was straddling a yellow line.
YG pulled over with the cops behind him and an Escalade filled with YG's entourage pulled up behind the cop car. That's when things took a turn for the worst.
According to witnesses on site, the deputy pulled his gun on the people in the Escalade and they were told to move.
TMZ also reports that the deputy ordered YG out of his car and administered a field sobriety test. YG passed and was not ticketed but he was left with a warning: not to straddle lanes.
A source from YG's camp says they don't believe the Sheriff Dept.'s explaination. Instead they offered up a different reasoning: "He got pulled over because he's young, Black, rich and famous. What do you expect."
YG was driving his red Panamera Porsche at the time of the incident.
Suge Knight had a similar incident back in December where he was pulled over by L.A. cops in a case of mistaken identity. Guns were drawn in this incident as well.
