The Amazing Spider-Man 2 looks to be a much more action-heavy movie than its predecessor. There are three villains (Electro, Rhino, Green Goblin) in the film and previously released footage has shown Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield) in battle numerous times with everything from his web shooters to manhole covers at his disposal.

Director Marc Webb added another tease onto the pile when he tweeted two behind-the-scenes photo from the movie, one of which showed the crew hard at work during the 47th day of mixing for the film. The screen behind the crew shows Spider-Man in a nosedive with nothing but blue sky and clouds around him.

In one of two behind-the-scenes featurettes released earlier this week (entitled "Lights, Camera, Action"), fans learned that much of the action in the film was done without the use of a green screen. Giamatti says in the clip that Garfield was actually on the roof of the truck and hanging off the side of the vehicle during parts of the Rhino's big chase scene, and Garfield adds that he would risk "breaking every bone in his body" whenever he could during filming.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has a tough task ahead of it when it releases on May 2 in the U.S. The film has to balance multiple villains (a problem from Spider-Man 3 that still agitates fans of the web head), provide a satisfying and action-packed experience and still set up future installments in the franchise. The hype for the film is quite high, as well, but fans will deliver their verdict in just a few short months.
